Found Port Hudson, LA - Beautiful button with nice highlighting with gilt,
face has no pushes, back has a minor push and bent shank but is completely
in tact and strong. A rare thin wire shank. |

McGuinn and Bazelon as this backmark is found on Civil War period buttons
Found Port Hudson, LA - Nice button with very slight center push, nicely gilted
and slightly bent shank. Button found with above listed LA8F.
See how the patina is identical on both buttons. This button was a wartime
replacement for a missing LA8F coat button. |

Found Fredericksburg, Va. - A wonderful prewar button with better
detail than the NC8 wartime copies. This button has an added detail of
four links that were attached to the shank. This button was most
likely used as a watch fob. The button does have a push to the face in
the center but the overall looks of the button are not harmed. The
back is a slightly loose but solid. A rare prewar North Carolina
button. |

Found Fredericksburg, VA. A good button
with nice details. Button does have damage on the face between the 12
and 1 o'clock position. The detail is very nice and a super strong b/m
which is very rare for Wildt products. This button is $350 in the
latest NSTCW price guide for a good dug example. This button is
really nice and fairly priced for it's condition. |

The button, though not a true Florida button, is one
that has been shown to have association with the Cherokee Indians and the
Confederacy. This particular type of button is featured in an article in NSTCW Vol. XV No. 3, "A
Confederate Cherokee Rose", by Dan Binder.
